Who are the philanthropic leaders in Guelph Wellington?

Introducing our ENGAGE partners ...

Thank-you to our ENGAGE partners for your philanthropic leadership in our community!

Three years ago, a group of leaders in our community agreed to support the GCF with a pledge of $70,000. After 3 years (beginning 2009), each engaged partner would then have their very own named fund that equaled their pledge. We are honoured to announce four funds created by our ENGAGE partners that reflect their philanthropic leadership and commitment to the GCF, supporting our work in the community.

Let us tell you why each parter wanted to establish an endowment fund:

Robinson & Company Community Support Fund
"We decided to create this fund hoping for a 'snowball effect' that would result in more benefits to be distributed to more in need. We would like the fund to be able to provide grants to those associations dedicated to improving the health, welfare, and quality of life of those living in our community.

At Robinson & Company, all members of our team care deeply about our community, and creating an endowment fund extends our 'giving' and this is very important to us."

Tom Bird and Jay Elinesky Fund
"Our hope is to award those in Guelph and Wellington County the opportunity to reach their potential and to encourage philanthropy, entrepreneurship, innovation, and community awareness. We have been fortunate to benefit from those in our community and beleive that it is our duty to give back."

"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give."
 Winston Churchill

Macquarrie Private Wealth Fund (Blackmont Capital)
"As financial professionals in Guelph, Blackmont and its employees recognize that community support goes beyond balance sheets and income statements. We created this fund to support the organizations that not only make Guelph a great place to work, but a great place to live.

During difficult economic periods, giving helps fill the widening gaps in our social safety net. Every member of our community has a responsibility to do whatever they can to enhance the quality of life in our city and make Guelph a great place to raise our children."

"Real generosity toward the future lies in giving all to the present."
Albert Camus

RLB LLP Community Fund
"RLB LLP is committed to strengthening the communities in which we live and work. We are proud of our deep community involvement and many partnerships with local groups and organizations.

We support our community in the following ways:
-we invest in our community's social fabric by supporting various local charitable organizations with both time and financial support. We sponsor local events by non-profit organizations who contribute to our community's growth;
-RLB LLP employees generouly donate their time and talent to give back to our community through various fundraisers and volunteer programs;
-we trust the judgement of the Guelph Community Foundation in using the earnings of the RLB LLP Community Fund to support community activities we may not be supporting directly.

We are committed to strengthening our relationships with the communities we serve. People Count, is not just our tagline, it is a firm belief."
